Post Last Monte June 20th
Asked the plant Manager today when the LAST Monte will be rolling off the line. His reply was June 20th. I will keep you all posted when the LAST Monte rolls off the line. I'am certain that the last Monte will be set aside for the employes to sign. This was done to the last Lumina that was produced in the Oshawa Plant, White Car signed with black marker. This Lumina is still around under a cover. I will get the CSN and VIN number of the LAST Monte. One Last thing to mention to you Monte SS Owners, The stripes and ground effects are not installed in the plant but installed down the road.

Thats interesting, would be nice to get that car. Should bring a nice price one day...

Still sad that there is no more Monte Carlo

Do you know of any plans to bring the Monte back as a REAR WHEEL DRIVE V8 genuine Muscle Car?? 8 )

Well think about the gap from when they stopped making them in 1988 and it wasn't until 1995 when they brought it back, roughly a 6-7 year gap, so who knows. I've heard many rumors that it will be back later with RWD but we'll just have to see, maybe it'll even be retro

Yeah, it might just look like a 70-72 like they're doing the Camaro, in a way this would be nice, but in a way I hope they don't make it retro a First Gen, it may take away from our cars.

What does everyone else think?

I don't think it'll take anything away if anything it'll show appreciation to the first gens and show the history of how important the past/first gens are. Think about the Mustangs, Camaro and Challenger retros the older versions have increased in value now know the retros are coming because people will want them both hint, hint ;) Who wouldn't wnt a first gen with new age equipment  a retro is the closest to it without doing it yourself.

But, then again, I also don't believe the MC will ever come back again. Chevrolet loves to insult its enthusiasts too much to make 'em happy for a change.

Well put it this way if GM doesn't bring the Montes back that means they will appreciate even more in value so definately hold on to them ;)

Not so sure they'll learn that lesson ... they didn't when it was axed in 1987............

And, I plan to keep mine ... I don't have 'em, though, for the monetary value, tho....
