Post Press Clear Alert
Press 'Clear' Alert

SENDING TO ALL.
I NEVER PRESS CLEAR AT THE GAS PUMP BUT SURE WILL FROM NOW ON --
BECAUSE THE BAD GUYS THINK OF EVERY POSSIBLE WAY TO GET US!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Subject: Alert from the Neighborhood Watch of Colorado Springs Police
Department
Most of us use credit/debit cards at the gas pump. With the price of gas
and people getting desperate, this is likely to occur more often.
Please be careful out there!
A co-worker used her credit/debit card to purchase gas at the pump (like
most of us do). She received her receipt like normal. However, when she
checked her statement, there were 2 $50 charges added in addition to her
purchase. Upon investigation, she found out that because she did not
press the 'clear' button on the pump, the employee inside the store was
able to use her card to purchase his/her own gas! To keep this from
happening, after you get your receipt, you must press the 'CLEAR' button
or your information will be stored until the next customer
inserts their card. Be sure to tell all your friends/family so that this
doesn't happen to them!
I posted it on the FGMCC forum and someone posted that snopes.com has proved it to be false.
After you shut the pump down, how can any of your information be stored? Wouldn't the simple fact you shut the pump off clear the information you inserted?
One reason people use credit and debit so much now, is 1 its convenient, and 2 it don't hurt so bad, although its doing that damage to your credit or debit account. :ROFL
Yeah thats true, plus most of my friends use it to get points for things like money,airline tickets, and electronics.... I just try to use cash whenever possible and only really use the cc when I buy stuff online like car parts...
The card companies want you to forget about using cash. Cause you use their card, they make money.
I use my card only cause I want the points. When I get 50k points, I'm going to get a gas card with them.
:lol:
I only use CREDIT cards when buying or ordering parts online or from someone like Leo Konik who also takes Credit cards. I use a Zero interest card and get it paid back, they don't make no money on me. :)
I use Debit Cards at the Gas Pump.
